The heart of creatures is the foundation of life, the Prince of all, the sun of their microcosm, from where all vigor and strength does flow. --William Harvey, De Motu Cordis, 1628

CardioPhylo uses phylogenetic footprinting method to predict conserved transcriptional factor binding sites (TFBSs) in cardiac genes involved in heart development and congenital heart defects. The program obtains the annotated Position Weight Matrix (PWMs) corresponding to cardiac transcription factors (TFs) from CardioSignal database and visualizes the identified TFBSs within cis-regulatory region. We hope this program could help researchers to evaluate their experiment results and facilitate their understanding of cis-regulation in heart system.

Cardiac TFs PWM :

Orthologous cis-regulatory region: The input DNA sequences should be in FASTA format. The length of each sequence should not be longer than 1K. Each sequence should have each own label in avoidance of name conflict.
